Once annoying thing for me is having to log in every time I turn on the RaspberryPi or reboot it. I will be running this Pi headless a lot so it will be good to not have to worry about signing in.
To do this you have to edit the inittab file with:
pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo nano /etc/inittab
Scroll down until you find the following line:
1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty –noclear 38400 tty1
and edit it out with a ‘#’.
#1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty –noclear 38400 tty1
Under that line add the following:
1:2345:respawn:/bin/login -f pi </dev/tty1 >/dev/tty1 2>&1
Save and exit the editor with:
Once done reboot with:
pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo reboot
and when the Pi boots up again it won’t ask you for log in information!
See you next time,
